Being happy is no joke. It takes a lot of hard work and time. That’s not to say that happiness is difficult. But making happiness a priority takes an extra step of conscious effort each day.

There are a lot of contributing factors to being happy/sad/angry/in love and some of us have it easier than others when it comes to being happy. One of my favorite ways to be happy is to connect with nature because it is life’s greatest equalizer: no matter who you are, where you come from, or what mood you are in nature is always there, unwavering.

So what’s the deal with nature, anyway? Being connected with nature can seriously improve our lives. It can make us strive higher and be more generous. It can also give you a substantial boost in self-esteem. Not to mention being outside exposes you to fresh air and free Vitamin D.

My aunt came to visit me all the way from Canada and we had the best time. She loves the outdoors as much as I do, so we took her kayaking. Look at who came with us …
What a magical experience! Dolphins are so incredible. It’s nice to get away and connect with nature, even if that means paddling out to the bay that is surrounded by city just to connect with these little friends.
We took her snorkeling, as well. It turns out I’m incredibly afraid of water, especially open water, and I had a panic attack while in the water. She was so sweet and held my hand the entire time!
How do you find happiness? I find that I am happiest when I am outside ..
