Sautéed green beans with onions and garlic

A delicious and easy vegan side dish, these sautéed green beans with onions and garlic are sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Optional Toppings


  • Trim the green beans.
  • Heat a large stainless steel or cast iron skillet. Spread the beans without oil and cook on high heat. Toss every 2-3 minutes. Beans skin will become wrinkly and start showing some spots.
  • Set aside
  • Add the olive oil, stir-fry for 2 minutes with salt.
  • Add the onion. Sauté till translucent.
  • Add the cooked green beans back to pan, stirring to combine
  • Add minced garlic, red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 1 minutes
  • Serve sprinkled with slivered almonds or sesame seeds.
